HTC One Mini in the Works

Is the HTC One simply too large for you? Well, don't worry, because a smaller one will be coming your way. Technically this isn't official news, but it is sourced from two different people at HTC. The HTC One Mini is said to launch in August, so expect an official announcement shortly. The HTC One Mini will feature a smaller display and generally lower specs. Expect a lower price-point, and hopefully the Mini One will be able to attack the market from a way that the full-sized version isn't hitting. Source: Bloomberg

HTC First Getting the Ax?

Though still technically a rumor, I'm sure it wouldn't surprise anyone if it turned out to be true. The current rumor (which is spreading like wildfire) states that due to poor sales AT&T will discontinue the First and all unsold units will be returned to HTC. It's been evident that the First hasn't been selling like hotcakes, and Facebook Home has also been getting mostly negative reviews. It wasn't so long ago that we were clamoring for the rumored Facebook Phone, and now it looks like its tenure might be at an end. Only time will tell if this experiment was enough of a failure to scare Facebook out of future smartphone prospects. So all you First owners out there, feel free to start referring to your device as "limited edition" if it makes yourself feel better. Source: BGR

HTC First Dead in the Water?

In case it wasn't at least semi-obvious by the recent drop in price, the HTC First has so far been a failure. Trip Chowdhry, a Global Equities Research analyst, estimates that the HTC First sold less than 10,000 upon its release. If that's true, it's horrible. Of course, it's only an estimate. Chowdhry pins the low performance on a lack of "cool factor." Apparently the full Facebook integration doesn't really count. He doesn't count Facebook out of the game just yet, stating that once Facebook Home reaches a wider following, things may iron out. Facebook seems to be losing momentum in general, as millions of users from all over the world have been migrating to other services. Via: BGR Source: Benzinga

Verizon HTC One Probably Still Coming

Well, this has been a long and uncomfortable road so far. Hopefully, with today's bit of news, it may soon come to an end. Even though HTC recently avoided the issue in an interview posted on Yahoo, a very reliable Twitter source has come forward saying that the Verizon HTC One will be available in the "near future." No, it's not official confirmation, nor does it clear up any of the rumors that it might be re-branded. But it's something, right? It's difficult to not be a little jaded at this point, but there it is. HTC said that when/if the device arrives it's going to be a "big deal." In other words, don't expect a silent launch. Hopefully Verizon customers that were waiting for the One haven't already written it off. As to what the "near future" could mean, it's anyone's guess. An announcement this month or the next would certainly go a long way. Via: Gotta Be Mobile Source: @LlaBTooFeR

HTC Working on Two Windows Tablets?

It's been a while since we've heard anything about this one, but today word leaked that not only is HTC working on a Windows tablet, they're actually working on two. The R7 and R12 (7' and 12',) are rumored to be in the pipeline, with the R possibly standing for Microsoft's new Windows RT Blue. Specs include 2GB of ram, 12GB of internal storage and a 13MP camera. Even though is still technically a rumor, those specs will most likely not change. We even have a proposed launch date: October 13th. A major leak like this will most likely turn out to be fact, but anything could happen. Are you in the market for a new tablet? Or perhaps you're just in the market for a tablet that doesn't run Windows 8? Expect to see more details concerning these tablets in the coming months. Source: Phone Arena

HTC Knows You Want a Verizon HTC One

HTC did a Q&A with Yahoo this morning which led to a beautiful non-answer on the topic of a Verizon HTC One. HTC's Director of Public Relations, Tom Harlin, reiterated that they haven't announced anything and that there is nothing to currently announce. He is, however, very aware of the persistent internet rumors and had this to say about that: "When we announce our next product for Verizon, we'll make a big deal about it so you're all aware." You don't have to try very hard to read that as "enough already!" but that's beside the point. If there is anything that it does confirm, it's that Verizon's next HTC device won't be something to scoff it; it will be something deserving of an announcement. Whether it will be the HTC One or not is anyone's guess. Once again, we're left playing the waiting game. Via: Droid-Life Source: Yahoo

HTC M4 Will Be a Cheaper One

Those rumors that cropped up earlier about the M4 being a mini version of the One look like they're going to be on the money. The M4 is rumored to share s design similar to the One and will be a step-down in specs; the M4 will carry a dual-core processor and 16GB of storage. Anyone miffed that that the 16GB HTC One is a Taiwan exclusive now has an answer. Well, as long as they're willing to accept the lower specs, of course. The M4 is will also have an Ultrapixel camera and will supposedly launch near the end of the second quarter. Oh, right, and it will be loaded with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, something which the One currently does not offer. Does a lower-priced mini HTC One tickle your fancy? It's certainly a great way to expand the One brand and give everyone a taste of HTC's newest flagship. Source: Phone Arena

This is the HTC 608t

Not too long ago we learned about the HTC 608t through a leak. The China-bound device has now been caught in the wild. Once again the internet handily scoops the details before they're announced. The 608t is rumored to have an 8MP camera, 1 GB of ram and possibly run on Jelly Bean. While it's certain that it will receive a proper name, it most likely won't make its way to North America. HTC 608t Headed to China

HTC has recently a number of new devices in foreign markets, not to mention the ones that have leaked recently. We can now add another one to the list with the leak of the HTC 608t. This device is rumored to be quad-core with 1GB of ram. As with some of the other devices that have leaked out, don't count on this one leaving China anytime soon. HTC has narrowed it's focus in the North American market, but that doesn't necessarily hold true for other markets. Source: Gadgets NDTV

End of the Line for the One X?

It may be unsurprising, but it still stings a bit. A reliable source on Twitter has supposedly revealed that Android 4.2 will be the last available update for the One X. The One X may have debuted last year, but technology moves very quickly. Android 5.0, Key Lime Pie, will be the next update. There are currently no compatible devices announced, but it's early days. Even though this is technically a rumor, the source has proven itself to be reliable in the past. In a way, it's the universe telling you that it's time to consider moving on from the One X. Or, you know, it's just Google and HTC. Whatever. Via: Gotta Be Moible Source: @LlabTooFeR
