leaked UI for Windows Mobile 7

Some leaked documentation of the Windows Mobile 7 UI have surfaced that show Windows Mobile 7 does indeed support multitouch. Jeremiah Whitaker, a freelance designer working on the UX design of Windows Mobile 7, provided the photos out of his portfolio. The photos obviously show the pinch-zoom movements of multitouch support. We will keep waiting for more information of Windows Mobile 7 and then its release as I’m sure there will be more leakage in the coming weeks.

Microsoft, during a report of its latest financial results, confirmed that Windows Mobile would be announced soon. Peter Klein, CFO of Microsoft, said that the new version of Windows Mobile would be unveiled "in a few weeks." The common thought that Windows Mobile 7 will be announced at the MWC is probably correct.

According to a tweet from mobile-review head Eldar Murtazin, who claimed to have had access to a Windows Mobile 7 device, the OS behaves a bit like a desktop. He also listed some interesting observations and spec requirements. The unnamed handset is extremely hard on the battery, lasting only 6-7 hours with the large 1,859mAh battery.

New information about the details of Windows Mobile 7 has been uncovered. No more next year launching, for Microsoft is planning to gift wrap Windows Mobile 7 and release it this coming holiday season. An officially announcement of Windows Mobile 7 is said to be on the plate for Microsoft next month in Spain and then be ready with enough applications for the launch this holiday. The SDK is to be released in June.

According to the sources at Digitimes, instead of Windows Mobile 7, it is reported that Microsoft will be launching Windows Mobile 6.6 this February. Windows Mobile 6.6, like the Windows Mobile 6.5.3. Don't expect it to be that great as it seems to be a small update untill Microsoft can get Windows Mobile 7 out.

Can this be true? Windows Mobile 7 delayed to 2011?

I’m waiting for more news to surface around this one but it has been stated on bsn website that Windows Mobile 7 will not be out before the World Mobile Congress in Barcelona in February 2011. Yes that was 2011! Here is the quote from that website:
