HTC Goes Green and Lets You Trade-up

HTC started a mass effort—partnering with the Horry County Solid Waste Authority, Wendy’s and Auntie Anne’s—for the 2010 directory and cell phone recycling program, March 15 through May 3, 2010. Dutch gadget blog Tweakers.net reported this morning that they’d received their new HTC Legend smartphones. Good for them, you say—yes, good for them, but strange for the mobile world. As MobileCrunch Editor Greg Kumparak said in his article today, it’s strange to see delays in the mobile realm of the tech industry, but what’s even more unusual is for something to ship early. HTC's New HD2 Caught in Action

TmoNews has revealed some stunning snapshots of the new HTC HD2, which is supposed to debut on March 24th with T-Mobile, and so far this new smartphone is looking pretty good. The HTC HD2 comes with a 4.3-inch touchscreen display, a 1GHz Snapdragon processor, HTC’s Sense and with Microsoft's Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. The new HTC handset also comes with all of the smartphone favorites like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB connectivity options, a built-in GPS receiver, the 5-megapixel camera, and the microSD memory card slot, with a 16GB memory card.

HTC Revenues Rise 10% in February 2010

Regardless of the pending patent suit from Apple, HTC has been on a roll recently—releasing one new smartphone after the next and providing Android-powered handsets throughout the world. DigiTimes reported this morning that HTC posted revenues of NT$10.194 billion (US$319.26 million) in February 2010. For the first two months of the New Year revenues totaled NT$21.315 billion, increasing 10.93% from 2009.
