HTC HD2 will be available through T-Mobile on March 24 for $199.99

T-Mobile USA has officially tweeted about HTC HD2 release date and pricing. According to their tweet, HD2 will be released on March 24th, 2010 and will cost $199.99 with a 2 year agreement and qualifying plan.

No information has been provided about full retail pricing of the phone. It's full retail price would probably be in the $499.99 range, but that is just our rough guess.

As we reported on February 16th, HTC HD2 through T-Mobile will include few extra apps which unlocked version does not have. Here is the list of the extra apps:

  • MobiTV® — It's the flat screen that follows you. Watch your favorite TV shows live and on demand while on the go.
  • Transformers™ and Transformers 2 are preloaded on your HTC HD2.
  • BLOCKBUSTER® — Download and watch the latest movies.
  • Barnes & Noble® — Over one million eBooks, magazines & newspapers. Sample any eBook free!
  • Gogo® Inflight Internet — Take Off and Never Lose Touch. Connect to the Internet on your next flight.

Uh... it's been leaked for over a month now that the unsubsidized price is $450. This per a pricing chart.

Mr. Doe,
It is my understanding that the TMobile version of the HD2 will have US 3G for TMobile but not for AT&T. Even though they both use GSM networks, AT&T uses a different frequency for their 3G services. This means we will be able to use voice and data but not 3G data with AT&T. It’s a pity but, I may snag one anyway even though I have AT&T, if the price of $449 stands. It seems like a good deal to upgrade to the HD2 from the Touch HD; anyone want to buy a Touch HD?

Damn this phone was supposed to replace my htc fuze. I want this phone so bad but i dont know if i deal without 3G. I also have an iphone but i love to use the skyfire browser on my fuze to stream shows and movies.

This WILL have 3G AND HSPDA which is BLAZING fast compared to 3G. Buy the HD2 and get Olinex on one of the forums to unlock it for you. I paid him $20 to unlock my HD1 a year ago

TO: Nyc John Doe,

This one is T-Mo's 3G (1700/2100 MHz) will not work on AT&T's 3G (850/1900 MHz), you'll have to go get the Aussi version is has Telstra's 3G (850/2100 MHz)

Do you know if the Aussie version is currently for sale?

By krossfire March 21, 2010 08:29 PM

It is. You can easily find it if you look. The model is T9193. It's not cheap expansys sells it for $899.99 (search #195444)Be prepared to wait a week or two for stock. If you really search hard you can under cut that price a little, but not much.

Why would you pay $899 when you could buy it from t-mobile for $499, pay $20 and have it unlocked

Because if you have AT&T like me and want 3G connectivity, then its only possible by buying the HTC HD2 Telstra T9193 with 850/2100MHz support. I've done my research

Those specs are correct; the T-Mobile HD2 is a Quad band GSM(850,900;1800,1900), commonly known as 2G and Dual band UMTS (1700,2100), more commonly known as 3G.
