Sprint's HTC Touch Pro 2 Gets Updated to Android

The XD Android project has been helping WinMo phone users load an Android operating system on their phone for some time now, but recently the folks behind this mobile mash-up decided to try it again with a newer handset, the HTC Touch Pro 2. This process seems simple enough—and according to them, it is—and the best part about this project is the results. We love HTC phones for so many reasons, but what we truly appreciate is how versatile and accessible these handsets are. In this video, first reported by PocketNow, we see an HTC Touch Pro 2 demonstrate a deliciously speedy boot-up of Android and some astounding capabilities such as working calls, SMS, the addition of shortcuts and other data.

If you want to get Android on your Windows Mobile phone, check out these links provided by PocketNow’s report. The report reads: “Want Android on your Windows phone, but not sure where to look? We’ve got you covered, so check out some of the links we’ve collected. You'll want to check the thread designated for your device. Installation instructions may vary, but they usually involve dropping a batch of files onto your storage card or installing a CAB. After that, just run HaRET from your storage card and it'll boot Android in about 2 minutes (slightly longer on first boot)."

So they load an Android OS on a very light version of Windows.
But Can an Android OS Load Windows?

So far... no. The whole reason this is even possible is because of the HaRET software which allows Linux to be run in WinCE. I haven't heard of software that currently exists to load WinCE on Android.
