With the EVO 3D and EVO View 4G, HTC is really altering their lock screen UI for the first time since HTC Sense debuted. Moving away from the standard "drag to unlock" lock screen that we've all come to know and love, they're going to include a number of unique lock screens, including a Windows Mobile 6.5-esque one that lets the user jump directly to one of the phone's communication apps.

Pretty cool, huh? I thought that this type of lock screen was brilliant when Microsoft debuted it, so I'm stoked to see HTC moving the concept forward. Phandroid says that this is a Sprint-only affair, but I bet it's nothing that devs can't port over.
