My english edition from Hong Kong will not upgrade with the english version. What could be the issue. The phone is unlocked and in use on Fido in Canada.

Most likely there is a region mismatch
Head over to forum.xda-developers.com
and look in the Rom Development forum under TOPAZ for Hard SPL
Install that then try to flash again

To Asian users: the English version (RUU_Topaz_S_HTC_WWE_2.16.405.4_Radio_Sign_Topaz_61.44tc.25.32_4.49.25.17_Ship.exe) does NOT support east asian languages like CHT/CHS. I've tried manually installed a Chinese font and an IME to the phone. That makes the display and input of Chinese work. However, the system data (numbers/date time/phone numbers) format still doesn't support any of the Chinese regions. My suggestion is to wait for CHT or ASIA_WWE version so you don't have to do all the tweaks by yourself just like what I did.

Hopt this helps.

Well, actually after some more tweaks, I have successfully solved the problem.

Now I'm running the WWE version with no problem supporting Simplified Chinese display and input. The UI is still in English though, but that's just fine with me.

Can we expect WWE for East Europe `cause this english version is not suitable for my Topaz, as HTC official site says "Sorry, this software download is not suitable for your device." I live in Serbia, my Topay is sim-free.

Hi Donald Nice,
I have a touch diamond 2 with German version and I want to have an English version as I come from Nepal but living in Dresden, Germany. I tried to upgrade wm6.5 englsih version yesterday but it doesn´t work and in your english version also i think it doesn´t work to upgrade german version , so if we exchange then you will have a german version and i will have a english version . So what do you think ? My handy is quite new . I haven´t used it coz i can´t understand all hte function in English , instead i am using another sony ericsson handy.

Can any one help I have downloaded the english rom from the HTC site and from here but they both get to 18% and then fail it reboots at 9% and then comes back on goes to 18% hangs there and then fails after about 5 mins.

I have put other roms on the phone with no problems. Can any one help please????

I think I have managed to get to the bottom of it. I installed a newer version of hard spl and it is now up to 67% so looking good. Ill post if it completes or not.

Hi been trying to update rom with no success kept coming up with invaid vender ID. Just found out although I live in the UK, bought the phone in the UK the rom is Middle Eastern does anyone know how I can get over this. There doesn't appear to be an upgrade for this rom yet.

Thanks for providing this Image that's great.
too bad that the image itself sucks.
It is slow, My city is not provided in the weather anymore, it looks not as good as the 6.1 version. But most important I was in the expactation that screen rotation would now work in all programs; would be in the OS.. Its not!
I see no reason to upgrade. (I have downgraded)
