Htcpedia news:
Today is a special day here at HTCPedia, and well, in the entire HTC community. What's all the excitement, you ask? Well, we now have a new ROM release thanks to the one and only, Itje!"Perhaps Sony Ericsson is taking its customers seriously? Anyhow...This rom has the kernel, official, not a modded 6.1 kernel," says Itje, developer and moderator here at HTCPedia and throughout the HTC community.
This ROM includes:
- Some drivers from upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia X2
- Manila version 2.1.19182825.6 with weather on hometab, and weather based on location (GPS/Cell)
- Note: Album is interacting with facebook and youtube as it did in my Leo version.
I asked Itje for some additional input on this ROM release and he was kind enough to share some more details. "To my knowledge, there (are) no bugs present. But that always depends on a good flash, and a hard reset after the flash is done." True, very true. Let us know how this works for you either here or in our forum.
"Well, the 6.5 kernel is working good. It seem more stable, and have good overall speed, allthough some...might think so, it's not a magical stone that will make all wishes come true. Another nice treat is some 3d drivers/openvg (and more) that comes from the upcoming Xperia2 (codename Vulcan).
The new manila 2.1, wich is in my new Touch-IT 14, is very nice. It has weather on hometab (like on HTC Hero) and it also has location weather, wich means that the weather is updated by gps/cell location.
This time I also put in the Album with social networking, so that if you want to upload a picture you have taken to facebook or youtube, you can do this via the album."
Download information:
You can download the ROM here. Please be sure to leave feedback here or in our forum, or both. We do so love feedback; it makes us all warm and fuzzy inside...just like new ROM releases!
Thanks and kudos to Itje for the hard work on developing this ROM and for taking the time to discuss the details of the new ROM with us. Itje has quite a reputation in the HTC community for being both a gentleman and a scholar; and today we are reminded that he is indeed both.
