Are there be any future plans for a next gen HTC Shift.
I was recently going to purchase one until the Viliv released a slate UMPC that can make voice calls in XP.

As far as shifting into the sense platform on windows mobile, what changes does htc have up their sleeve concerning htc manila? We see the codenamed 2.6 in the wild, but what about version 3.0?
What is htc's stance on the windows mobile 7 delays and changes to the specifications? Will HTC be left behind or will it continue to partner with microsoft beyond windows mobile 6.5?
As graphics are becoming a large mainstay in mobile media, will HTC pay qualcomm for the video/3d graphics acceleration in future models considering graphics is a core requirement for the future of windows mobile and android platforms?
Any definitive information concerning the HTC leo? There is a lot of speculation from several sites, but is there something definitive you can specify - such as design features?
I notice there is a patent concerning the use of stylus on capacitive touch screen devices. Does this mean that HTC will continue to have devices with stylii despite other developers (apple for example) moving away from a stylii environment (resistive touch screen days)?
Expectations for HTC for the 2010 year - does HTC expect to see the large growth that was seen at the end of the 08 fiscal year?

Hi, I'm an expat living in China; loving my HTC TOuch Pro2.
I'd like to ask what are the developments in having a long lasting batery and if HTC is considering it not only for the next phone models, but something that could be used in current models (we, loyal consumers, wouldn't have to purchase a new phone, but just a new batery, as longer its cost tag is not as expensive as a new, phone, of course). Thanks, and congrats for this phone, it's terrific.

i'd like to ask them why their today screen isn't customizable or why it doesn't support 3rd party plugins like the standard windows today screen. they have such a great UI that beautifully replaces most of windows mobile, but it seriously lacks in personalized features. the least i'd like to know is why they've forsaken the windows tasks app.

I too want to know about the Leo specs and also an estimated release date. There have been mentions of it being a slider, but the latest pics dont seem indicative of that. Are there similar devices (i.e. w/ snapdragon) with a qwerty in the pipeline? 8mp camera or 5?
On a seperate topic which is most important to me, is; Is there anything being done to minimize delays and get new devices released to the US sooner?

QUESTION FOR ERIC LIN:
A dedicated following is slowly developing for HTC phones. Due to Apple's attitude towards the market, an ever increasing number of cell phone users are opting for iPhone alternatives. We think HTC is in an excellent position to capitalize on this trend. However technical prowess is not sufficient to build brand loyalty. Users like to know their relationship with the manufacturer continues past the point of purchase, with quality after-sales support, regular updates and free extras.
In this context, our members would like to know if HTC will include Manila 2.6 with its upcoming WM 6.5 ROM upgrades for phones such as Diamond 2, Touch Pro 2, Touch HD etc, ?
FOLLOWUP:
Do you plan to make updates and extras a regular feature? At least for your high end models?

Also, in spite of the excellent cameras built into HTC phones, one feature about which many reviewers complain is the lack of an LED. Any plans to include this feature in future models?

I would like to know when we will see CDMA phones in the US (specifically Sprint) with faster more up to date processors, large screens (around 4")and high megapixel cameras w/flash.

will there be an successor to the HTC shift, but then in the formafactor of the touch pro 2? maybe upgrade screen to 4.8" or 5", but must remain comfortable to bring aong. that would be so aWesome, windows 7, maybe nvidia ion, with intel atom. Ofcourse, the question you have to ask: IS THIS POSSIBLE?

How about a release date for the HTC Superhero (WM7) ;) ?
Practically, ask them if they are going to concentrate on WM at all anymore. I am an AT&T customer and want an HTC Hero. However, AT&T (I guess due to pressure from apple) will not release an android phone soon. Any recommendations on a new phone by AT&T would be great. I personally don't like the TP2 because it has the same hardware as the original touch pro and WM 6.5 (which I have flashed) is just as buggy/laggy as 6.1. So if they aren't planning to release an impressive WM phone soon, should I switch to sprint? I mean they are supposedly getting the Hero and have the 4G network already in my area.

We would like to know if the AK8976A CHip is being used in the Blackstone, TP2, TP or Diamond. Beacause it would mean that it would be theoretical possible to activate the Hardware Compass.

HTC announced that they were working on tweaking the Hero's ROM to address some performance complaints voiced in early reviews of the device. Do you have any new information or first-hand experience with this update?

Android-based devices like the HTC Hero that do not bear 'with Google' branding are said to be unable to receive over-the-air updates, unlike their Google-branded cousins, such as the MyTouch. If HTC must produce customized builds of new Android versions for these phones, how long can a phone owner expect to receive such support from HTC?

HTC has a history of releasing both cross-carrier handsets (TouchPro2) and carrier-exclusive handsets (MyTouch). Does HTC have a position on the general issue of carrier exclusivity? Would you prefer to see exclusivity deals disappear in the future?

Cassandra, please have the guts to ask Eric about the Elephant in the Room, the lack of 3D/Graphics drivers. As a business plan, HTC seems to be making a major mistake in not pursuing this aspect of their phones. Such a great product line in all other aspects, yet a GLARING deficiency in one area that the average customer finds increasingly important. They will never compete on an even basis with the Iphone without increasing the graphic performance of the product line. Hopefully he will give you a straight forward, complete, response that this interview deserves.

I am interested in the fact that the trend seems to be going back towards larger phones - I have a Touch Pro, which is the first time in years it has felt like a phone, but the TP2 is bigger (about as big as I think I would want), and the leaks re the Leo suggest even larger is the way forward. Are there any plans for phones along the lines of the TP (including a keyboard)?or does HTC see this as not the way forward.

I am really disappointed with the TP2. I expect a professional device to be the most powerful device on the market but other than the screen and speakers I don't see any real improvement in the Touch Pro 2 from the Touch Pro. Other manufacturers are releasing more powerful devices how long will we have to wait for some devices which are a true upgrade?

ask Lin if they can make a device that has the power of the snap dragon CPU 1ghz at least 3.8 inches screen and with a super fast sense UI on it. that would be my dream phone. or if this is not possible.
can htc officially release windows 6.5 and the leo ROM on teh touch hd.
i believe these are close to impossible things to ask, but its still worth it i think. thanks anyway.
