HTC Kicks Off Major Marketing Push to Become Household Name

If HTC gets their wish, everyone and their mothers will know about the brand before the holiday shopping season this year. They are launching a major marketing campaign to get the word out in a big way.

With billboards in 10 cities, television commercials, and web advertising, HTC hopes to create a global reputation with the mainstream consumer for creating user-centric devices that offer the most choices and customization.

HTC believes "you don't need to get a phone, you need a phone that gets you." HTC fans are already hip to that info, since the release of phones like the HTC Hero and HTC Tattoo offer customization options for software and hardware that go beyond the offerings of other devices.

Sad part is that they'll become well-known for their Android phones, which they just started making a year ago... not their huge variety of WinMo phones that they have been making for YEARS.

Put the TP2 next to the G1 on a commercial and see what phone people will pick...
