HTC EVO 3D has signed bootloader, custom ROMs will be difficult Htcpedia news:
This is a story we don't like reporting but have been doing so with increasing frequency. Android Police was able to confirm that HTC has signed the bootloader, recovery and kernel images on the HTC EVO 3D. What does this mean? Well it means that ROMs like Cyanogenmod, overclock kernels and recoveries like ClockworkMod probably won't come to the EVO 3D. We've already seen this happen to the HTC Thunderbolt and Incredible S, and it looks like the HTC Sensation will be getting the same treatment. Personally, we're disheartened. The mod community makes owning a smartphone much more thrilling, and while we understand the desire to keep people from bricking their devices, we applauded Sony Ericsson's bootloader unlock website. We had hoped HTC would take a similar step. Now we know they won't. Source: Android Police Rate this: 1 2 3 4 5 Rate
