Hidden RAM in the European version of the HTC HD2

Htcpedia news:

Hidden RAM in the European version of the HTC HD2

It looks like the HTC HD2 in Europe might be hiding something. How about like more RAM.  It was reported that the HTC HD2 coming to USA was to have 576 MB of RAM, a bit more than the 448MB of RAM Europe HD2 versions carries. Yet it now seems that HTC hid 128MB of RAM on purpose in the Europe version of the HTC HD2.

European users say that their HD2 has 576MB but they are only allowed to use 448MB. The extra is under lock and key.  So how much RAM does the HD2 have ?  Users have tried to take apart their HD2 to find out for themselves how much RAM the HD2 has and other have ran as many apps as possible to see if the locked RAM will kick in.  So far haven't heard of any success.  It seems that there is leaked ROM that will find and unlock the hidden RAM.  Yet why would HTC lock some of the RAM?  Did it break the law by letting users completely enjoy all the features of the HD2 ?  It is hinted that maybe HTC doesn't want users to upgrade to Windows Mobile 7 when it comes out since the HD2 does not meet Microsoft's minimum requirements that have been leaked.  No word on this from HTC.

I have a HD2 witch officially came with 448mb of RAM. After a few research on the internet I found a ROM that enabled the hidden ram. Now my hd2 has 576mb of RAM and is working great so far.

Could you please post a link, or at least give a clue as to what ROM unlocked the RAM for you please paco oblea

At XDA or even Miri's roms Unlock those rams.
But to tell you the truth I don't see any advantage of unlocking the Rams:
Windows is very good in memory management

Look for these two ROMs in the Apps\Roms\HTC Leo section (they are my favorite but there are other ROMs that also enable the hidden RAM):
Miri HD2 WM6.5.X (28205/23518) ROM :: Sense 2.5 :: V 1.5

Miri HD2 WM6.5 (21889) ROM :: Sense 2.5 :: V 2.4

You MUST flash Radio 2.06.50.04 if you want to enable the hidden RAM.
*I used T-Mobile's leaked 2.02 ROM to flash the radio and then changed to Miri's
*I found The T-Mobile's ROM on http://xda-developers.com/. Sorry I don’t have a direct link to that one.

**Use caution when flashing a ROM and follow the instructions correctly or you may end up turning your device into a nice looking brick. :D

Cheers for your help, much appreciated. Does anyone know if the extra RAM disapears if I change the radio back to what I had, or does it properly unlock it.
