Don’t be Too Jealous; You’re Getting Froyo, Also (If you have a Desire, Legend, or Wildfire, that is)

Hot off the heels of the official Android 2.2 Froyo Google release news, there has been a bit of a clamor amongst the usual circuits. This time Google has let smartphone blog Recombu know that further Froyo device updates are forthcoming. Specifically listed are the Desire, the Legend, and the Wildfire. This is certainly a encompassing HTC device list that will cover a good portion of device types for specific user bases, but it still doesn’t mean much unless you have one of those handsets.
Google told Recombu that “We are working hard with our partners to update the HTC Sense experience on Froyo and distribute it to our customers as fast as possible. We expect to release updates for several of our 2010 models including Desire, Legend and Wildfirebeginning in Q3.”
This isn’t quite the month-and-change period the Nexus One users had to sweat it out, but I suppose for something like Froyo the wait is worth it. I do have to say that, without a doubt, the clear winner in this Froyo upheaval is HTC. If you have a semi-current HTC Android device chances are you’ll be thumbing through Froyo while everyone is still twiddling theirs.
