Samsung Has Allegedly Been Smearing HTC Online

The competition between HTC and Samsung just got a little more personal. According a report from the Fair Trade Commission Samsung has been accused of hiring students to start an HTC smear campaign online. Samsung has yet to publicly acknowledge the allegations, but apparently a message was left on their Taiwan Facebook account apologizing for any confusion and that they will be suspending "...posting articles on websites." If Samsung is found guilty they could face a potential fine of up to $835,000.
If Samsung has really sunk to such juvenile tactics it would speak volumes about their own confidence. The HTC One has been consistently wow-ing reviewers left and right since its unveiling, so some nerves would be natural. Hopefully these allegations are false, or at least Samsung was just seriously misguided. It should be noted that the home South Korean branch of Samsung is not a proper representation of the North American branch.
