Nokia Wins HTC Court Case

Legal battles over patents and copyright happen very frequently, and no tech company seems to be safe from them. HTC was just given a legal smack-down in their case with Nokia over microphones in Amsterdam. Apparently the new HTC One uses microphone components that were invented by, and produced exclusively for, Nokia. HTC did not seek Nokia's permission before incorporating the parts into their flagship One. Oops.
Until March of 2014, ST Micro (the company that has been selling HTC the parts) cannot sell them. This ruling is limited only the Netherlands, so it shouldn't have any affect on HTC's larger supply chain. Unlike the frequent cases we see of copyright trolls hopping from company to company trying to take each one down, it seems that HTC was caught red-handed in a serious case. They will now be forced to scramble for a new supplier.
