Hey Microsoft! Time To Step Up Your Game Htcpedia news:News coming out of DigiTimes states that Windows smartphone makers are pressing Microsoft to start taking steps to secure a future stake in the mobile market. Microsoft's Windows mobile platform was supposed to wow the world and explode in popularity but nothing like that has ever happened... yet. Makers of Windows smartphones need to see some significant changes in the way Microsoft protects its operating system and to allow for companies to add their own personal touch as they do with the Google Android operating system. This could be a great thing for Microsoft to pump some needed life saving energy in to a failing smartphone operating system. If anything, Microsoft should pay attention to what is happening to Blackberry's RIM operating system. Market application availability for Windows and RIM are sad in comparison to the Android and Apple markets which both are currently over 400,000 apps compared to 70,000 for Microsoft. This is simple, but somehow gets complicated in a corporate conference table. The consumers of the world are looking for smartphones that can do more, not less. How could you possibly sway people over to your brand by saying "Hey, check us out! We cost the same but do much less!" This is their marketing strategy? Wake up Microsoft, your getting crushed. If your current corporate leaders are not able to make the correct decisions in the advancement of Microsoft, then it may be time for new leadership and ideas.
