Our Opinion

PROS: Charges, Syncs HTC One X. Can be used as a desktop stand or night stand. LED indicator shows when power is connected. Charge HTC One X and watch videos, listen to music or even play games in horizontal/landscape view.

CONS: Does not work with HTC One X case. Even the thinest case will not work with the dock.

HTC One X Desktop Dock Review

Smartphones are moving back in the direction to desk top docks for convenience, due to the lack of internal memory or microSD slot. Without a microSD slot, memory in your HTC One X may get a little packed if you take a lot of pictures and video. That is where the HTC One X dock comes in. It not only syncs the phone with your computer, but also charges it.

The HTC One X Desktop Dock will make your life as convenient as it can be with the limited memory options. Being able to connect to your computer has to be simple if you plan on uploading photos and video to free up space in your HTC One X on a daily basis. The new camera abilities and quality are wasted if you do not have the space to record. Having a HTC One X docking station used to be an added accessory, however now it is a necessity.

The HTC One X Dock connects almost effortlessly to your computer via USB cable or to a wall jack for power. It comes with a USB to microUSB cable that you can use for data transfer with your computer or use the wall adapter to plug it to the wall. See.... simple.

Your HTC One X just slides right in and makes the connection with the microUSB port on the dock. It would be nice if a dock mode was to come up when you slide in the HTC One X, but it does not. You can easily activate the Car Dock Mode or Clock app to use it as a horizontal desktop dock. Things do go into landscape mode when you activate them so it really is a non-issue. This dock does not work with a case on, so you'll need to take a case off the phone (if you use any HTC One X case).

What I do like about this HTC One X Dock (besides how easy it is to use), is that when there is power going through the Dock the little blue indicator light in the front turns on. You can tell when your HTC One X is getting a charge but I was never able to see if the dock was getting power. This just makes things easier.

Here is a short video showing you how easy it is to charge, sync and cradle HTC One X using this dock.

It is not hard to see that the HTC One X Dock makes connecting a smartphone to your computer very easy. Transferring information or backing up your HTC One X can be a daily routine and it can free up all that needed space without having to use your data connection through your cellular provider. If you do not like to backup or sync your HTC One X, then simply use this dock as a charging stand.

Will it work with a case (Otterbox Cummuter)? And if not, can you please recommend me about one who does work with a case ?

No it will not work with Otterbox. I have not found one that does yet. The Otterbox Defender and Commuter both have rubber pieces that cove the microUSB port on your HTC One X. You would have to cut that off (voiding warranty on the case), if you used a dock, but I still have not found one that fits the size anyway.
