[ROM] Official CyanogenMod 6.0 Alpha Preview Unsupported (test0 - 03/07)

This is a preview version, not the final product or even a test/beta rom. It is at Alpha stage, certainly full of bugs that we are aware of. So not need to report them for now.

You have to know what you are doing when using this. If you don't, don't use it.

This is a pure, working AOSP build which you can use without any type of Google applications. I found a link from some other project that can be used to restore the Google parts, which can be found below or elsewhere in the thread. The various hardware-specific code is still included , which seems to be slowly being open-sourced anyway.

The changelog for CM6 is not ready yet (alpha stage) but changelog for CM5 reflect most off the work done and credits.

I've found this ROM is quite stable and enough for my daily use.

But there is one issue --- the Chinese Locale, is there any way to fix it?

well, solved. It's the fonts.

so I just copy the fonts from HTC 2.1 WWE to the rom, everything's fine now

By the way, the ROM doesn't contain the WIFI hotspot and Official APP2SD?

The Market seems to have some problems. can't find some apps like NYTimes.

Seems to work very nicely. It remembered my WEP key between wipes then reinstalled all my apps for me automatically! Awesome!

EDIT: Google calendar/contacts/mail sync all working fine. Market and su fine too. Camera untested.

Good work friend .. Just few issues noted. Not here to complain about the ROM, (I know its an alpha release), just wanted to let you know:

1. Not able to sync, Google account.
2. Camera not working.

Is that radio correct ? do you mean PU , not PH ?

Camera does take photo's, it just doesn't show preview on screen.

installed on my hero - did not find the radio, any help with this?so far working fine-can take photo but can't see what i am taking. tried to install flash player 10.1 but unable to find in and market...any suggestions? when i installed flash player hacked for 2.1 internet browser crashes before opening first webpage, same with skyfire. uninstalled and browsers working fine. would be perfect if flash 10.1 worked on it-something to do woth descripton of phone being hero and not nexus one?thnaks a lot keep up the good work !!!

Good job! So far so good, been running / testing it for about 3 hours.

A few observations:
* My wireless key / settings were restored, but when I enabled the wireless the phone would not auto connect (like my previous vanilla 2.1 roms would do). When opening the wireless settings the network was shown as detected, but not enabled for some reason. Tapping it and pressing connect made it work as normal.
* Market: not fully working yet, my previously installed applications auto installed (but no indication until it finished), exept 2: Google Sky Maps (would not install) and Pure Calendar Widget (not shown in market). The extremely long 'loading...' period always present in the 2.1 roms I tried is gone tough!
* Upon restoring my SMS messages with "SMS Backup & Restore" and rebooting the phone marks half my messages as 'unread', which is a little annoying, but not a showstopper.
* Dialer One is not able to load contact info from the database, it shows just the numbers.
* The HTC IME mod (v27) crashes on every input box
* Speed is quite good! I think on par with 2.1, especially after switching from ADW Launcher to Launcher Pro.
* Google sync does work over 3G out of the box here (NL Telfort)

I wish I had the skill to sort these issues out myself, but I don't so I reported them here

Great job Lox. Nice to have you back on Hero like the early days of 2.1 all those months ago...

One thing to report - Graphics in GMail app are oversized. Mainly email header text and 'reply' etc.
