Otter Box is a well known case maker for smartphones and they have just released the Otter Box Commuter Series Case for the HTC One S. I normally do not go for a case that makes my smartphone feel so big but the Commuter Series is nothing like the Otter Box Defender Series that can make your smartphone feel like a brick.
The Otter Box Commuter Series Case comes in two layers and comes with a screen protector. When you have all of the pieces together with the screen protector, you have 360 degree protection. As you can see in this picture the Otter Box Commuter Series Case for the HTC One S also comes with everything that you need to apply the screen protector. A little bit of advice... Before applying the screen protector make sure that your HTC One S is clear of all dust and lint otherwise you will see it all under the screen protector, once it has been applied.
The dual layer protection found in the Otter Box Commuter Series Case for the HTC One S is no joke. You can tell that Otter Box did not go cheep when creating the Commuter Series. The inner rubber layer is not thin like you would normally find in competing case makers. Otter Box made sure that the Commuter's inner rubber was thick enough to take on a hard bounce, and combined with the true hard outer layer, the two leave your mind at ease when accidents happen.
The Otter Box Commuter Series Case for the HTC One S's protection allows for use of your smartphone without any problems that would normally be associated with case like this. The screen is protected from drops and falls from the raised rubber lip that encases the edges of the screen and still not distorting the viewing experience.
All ports, speakers and microphones are covered and protected but easily accessible for use. The Beats Audio speaker is still loud and clear. When you need to charge your HTC One S or use the 3.5mm headphone jack, all you have to do is peal back the rubber protector and that will expose the port that you are looking for. The reason Otter Box does this is to make sure that your HTC One S does not have a build up of dust or moisture in those well needed ports. Sounds good to me.
Just like everything else, the camera that HTC brags about is still usable while protected in the Otter Box Commuter Series Case for the HTC One S. If you were to drop your HTC One S, back side down, the worst thing that could happen would be to damage the lens or LED flash. Those are not replaceable or in a position to get fixed. If you were to find someone who can fix it then it will cost you more than if you were to buy a brand new HTC One S.
Here is the review video that I made for you showing you how to put it on... Enjoy
The Otter Box Commuter Series Case for the HTC One S is some of the best protection that you can buy. The dual layer and screen protector could be what saves your HTC One S in case of an accident.
The only thing that I can see people complaining about would be the size. Yes, it is still much smaller than other smartphones with the Commuter Series but it still makes it noticeably bigger. It is good that the HTC One S starts off really thin to begin with. Do not forget, that HTCpedia shop has a bunch of cases for the HTC one S.
