Our Opinion

It seems like these two cases are similar but that is just not true. Picking between the two did take me some time but in the end I would go with the Trident for the added protection with the screen protector and port covers. Color choices are great to have as well. If I was one who dropped my smartphone all the time then I would get the Ballistic and buy a screen protector.

Ballistic vs Trident For The HTC Incredible 4G LTE

What do you look for when you are buying a case for your brand new HTC Incredible 4G LTE? Do you go for protection or style, or are you looking for a little bit of both worlds? It gets hard to answer questions like this when there is so many cases to pick from. In this review I show you the Trident Aegis Case and the Ballistic Case for the HTC Incredible 4G LTE.

The Ballistic Case for the HTC Incredible 4G LTE is not your simple hard or soft shell case. It is a heavy duty dual layer case that comes in black. As you can see in this picture, the Ballistic case does have the inner rubber layer, that sticks out of the hard shell. I will tell you that the rubber in these areas are much thicker for protection. The indent dots all over the back are not there just for looks, they also help with grip.

The Trident Aegis Case for the HTC Incredible 4G LTE brings a bit of style with protection in a way Ballistic could not. For starters, it comes in many colors like you see here in the picture and more on the retail page. Five colors, black, red, green, blue, and pink keep your HTC Incredible protected with another two layer design but this time there is a screen protector included.

The rubber on the Trident Aegis Case for the HTC Incredible 4G LTE is not as thick as you would find on the Ballistic case, so you can see how the Ballistic case provides better shock protection but less style. Now a days, people like a little color on their cases.

Both cases, the Trident and Ballistic will add size to your HTC Incredible 4G LTE and both do wrap around the front screen on the sides for that added protection, but when you add the screen protector that comes with the Trident Aegis Series Case for the HTC Incredible 4G LTE then you have 360 degrees of protection.

The Ballistic case for the HTC Incredible 4G LTE may not have a screen protector but in my opinion it will protect better from drops, falls, bumps, or dings. So while you do get protection and style with the Trident, you will get better shell protection with the Ballistic. The screen protector is no big deal considering how many you can simply buy. It is the lack of color that has me leaning towards the Trident.

You will find the same type of protection over the volume rocker and power button on the HTC Incredible 4G LTE when using either one of these dual layered cases but Trident takes it a step further with adding rubber shields to your 3.5mm headphone jack and microUSB charging port.

Thanks for the review of these 2 cases. They are a cheaper alternative to Otterbox cases. I have the Trident Aegis. Would you say that it is smaller than the Ballistic case or they are about the same size? Thanks
